Block of flats rocked by explosion in Roman

An apartment was completely destroyed, 10 were seriously damaged and 24 others sustained minor damages in an explosion that rocked a block of flats early Thursday morning in Roman. A vehicle parked in front of the block was also damaged. According to Colonel Ioan Parvu, deputy commander of the Neamt County Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU), the explosion, followed by a fire, was caused by a pocket of natural gas that formed within an apartment on the third floor.

The apartment’s owner suffered second and third-degree burns. The injured person was taken to hospital but his life is not in danger.
