Appeal against the dissolution of the Parliament

The Coalition for a Clean Government (CGC), which comprises five NGOs, issued a press release expressing its concern over the deterioration of political situation in Romania, and launched an appeal against any form of radical political act, such as the dissolution of the Parliament. “The Coalition for a Clean Governance (CGC) expresses its concern over the deterioration of political situation in Romania, which may endanger the rule of law and the democratic advances achieved so far,” writes the release signed by Freedom House, the Group for Social Dialog, the Timisoara Society, the Romanian Academic Society, and the Advocacy Academy. CGC urges President Traian Basescu, political party leaders, presidential candidates, the Constitutional Court and all those who have the authority and the means to intervene in view of preventing any form of radical political act.

Moreover, CGC demands political factors to refrain from invalidating the will of the electorate through organizational, legal or any other kind of modification brought to the vote.
