Act Theatre premieres a new Alexandru Dabija directed play


Wednesday October 21, Act Theatre invites theatre lovers to the premiere of “At Home with Daddy” by Mimi Branescu. Under the directorial guidance of Alexandru Dabija ( well know for such theatre hits as Barry Gifford’s Hotel Room, Gogol’s Godfather and Ionesco’s Five Short Plays) will evolve well- known Romanian actor Marcel Iures, accompanied by a young cast of actors such as Gavril Patru, Serban Pavlu and Ada Simionica. Performance lasts 90 minutes and a ticket costs 30 RON.

The second edition of the charity concert organized by the Princess Margareta Foundation will be hosted on October 25 by the Romanian Athenaeum. The concert will benefit from the presence of the Radio National Orchestra conducted by Cristian Mandeal. Princess Margareta and Prince Radu. The money will be used for supporting teenagers with special talent, coming from poor families. Last year’s concert raised 100,000 euros, allowing 16 young people to benefit from special scholarships.

On October 23, the Silver Church Club in Bucharest will host the concert of Romanian rock band Byron. The concert launches the group’s new album A Kind of Alchemy. The concert will be opened by the A Quattro Quartett, Persona and Marius Florea.

An exhibition of photographs and documents remembering the historical execution of an anti-communist group in Nucsoara County will open on Thursday October 22. The exhibit will include pictures of the well-known resistance group The Muscel Outlaws and documents from the time. It can be seen in the Irina Nicolau hall of the museum until November 7.
