Ex-APAPS minister to be buried today

Ovidiu Musetescu, former minister of the State Assets and Privatization Authority passed away on Sunday, of pulmonary cancer. Aged 54, Musetescu had been admitted to hospital a week ago. Former minister of the Adrian Nastase cabinet, Musetescu was being probed by anticorruption prosecutors in the case of privatization of Alro Slatina and Alprom SA companies. He was accused of having intentionally undervalued the assets belonging to the two state-run companies. In September 2009, Minister of Justice Catalin Predoiu, on request from President Basescu, began legal procedures against Musetescu. The funerary service for the former minister will take place in Bellu Cemetery today.
