An ambulance was involved, on Thursday morning, in an accident on DN 7, near Tartaria, Alba County, after it collided with a car which tried to avoid the collision with another ambulance which was on mission, a person being injured in the incident. Iulia Hategan, spokesperson of Alba Police, quoted by Mediafax, declared that an ambulance which was on mission, the luminous and acoustic signals on, tried to bypass a column of vehicles, when the driver of a car driving on the lane coming from the opposite direction jammed on the brake and pulled over to make room for it.
At that moment, another car which was coming on the same lane could not stop and in order to avoid the collision joined the row of vehicles hitting an ambulance from that row.
Accident with SMURD ambulance also in Bucharest
A SMURD Bucharest employee was slightly injured, and the ambulance, in which he was, together with his colleagues who were carrying a patient, was damaged in the accident which took place on Wednesday night, at the junction of Iuliu Maniu and Vasile Milea boulevards from Bucharest.
The accident occurred after a driver who was coming on Vasile Milea Blvd. arrived in the junction with Iuliu Maniu but did not notice the ambulance, which was crossing the street going from Militari neighbourhood to the center of the city.
According to witnesses, the ambulance had the siren and the revolving light activated.
