Traian Basescu is rated with 36 per cent of the voting intentions in the first round of the presidential elections, of the 51.6 per cent of the respondents of a CSOP opinion poll. The respondents would probably to participate to vote and declared that they have an electoral option, Agerpres informs. According to the sociological research, made during October 21-24, at the request of PDL, on the following places in the voting intentions are Mircea Geoana (PSD+PC) – 26 per cent, Crin Antonescu (PNL) – 13 per cent, the independent Sorin Oprescu – 8 per cent, George Becali (PNG) – 7 per cent, Corneliu Vadim Tudor (PRM) – 5 per cent, and Kelemen Hunor (UDMR) – 4 per cent. In the runoff, 51 per cent, out of the 49.7 per cent of the interviewed who declared that they go to vote and have an electoral option, intend to vote for Traian Basescu and 49 per cent for Mircea Geoana. If Traian Basescu is confronted with Crin Antonescu in the runoff, 55 per cent declared that they vote for the current Head of State and 45 per cent with the Liberal leader. If in the second round Traian Basescu is confronted with Sorin Oprescu, the current Head of State is rated with 56 per cent, while the mayor of Bucharest with 44 per cent.
