Bucharest Municipality to spend EUR 5.9 M on bike paths

The Streets Administration, a structure reporting to the Bucharest Municipality, will invest RON 24.75 M (EUR 5.9 M) for tracing 70 kilometers of bicycle paths and installing traffic lights to this respect, the institution announces in a press release posted on the governmental web site for auctions.

The 70 kilometers of path will be covered with 20,760 square meters of yellow adhesive tape and 1,740 sq m of white thermoplast band. Traffic lights will be mounted at the crossroads with 12 major avenues, where bike paths will cross adjacent streets.

The new paths will be laid along the following avenues: Soseaua Mihai bravu, Bd. Stefan cel Mare, Bd. Iancu de Hunedoara, Calea Dorobanti, Calea 13 Septembrie, Bd. Ghencea, Str. Brasov, Str. Drumul Taberei, Soseaua Virtutii, Bd. Timisoara, and Calea Crangasi.
