Lump tax brought RON 100 M losses to budget and 56,000 unemployed

The introduction of the lump tax brought losses of RON 100 M to the state budget, generating 56,000 unemployed, further to the closing of 26,000 firms with activity, according to the calculations of the National Council for SMEs from Romania (CNIPMMR), Mediafax informs. “According to an evaluation of the National Forecasting Commission that the finance minister presented us a few days ago, of the 112,000 firms which suspended their activity until September 26,000 had activity, and the remaining were inactive. 56,000 employees from the 26,000 firms lost their jobs,” declared on Friday Florea Parvu, vice president CNIPMMR, in a press conference. According to his calculations, there was a loss of RON 300 M further to the closure of these firms through the loss of the taxes to the state budget. CNIPMMR president, Ovidiu Nicolescu, said that the representatives of the employers’ associations will meet tomorrow with the IMF delegation.
