Over EUR 40 M more for Moara Vlasiei-Ploiesti highway.
We shall pay EUR 43.12 M more for the motorway segment Moara Vlasiei – Ploiesti. Last September, CNADNR and the constructors of Moara Vlasiei-Ploiesti sector of Bucharest-Ploiesti expressway concluded an additional act through which the cost of the works rose 25 per cent, to RON 883.7 M, VAT not included. The document was signed in early September between CNADNR and the consortium former of the firms owned by Dorinel Umbrarescu (UMB Spedition), Costel Casuneanu (Pa&Co International), Sorin Vulpescu and Dan Besciu (Euroconstruct Trading ’98). All this starts from a technical flaw, and the modification of the project would not have been necessary if the geodesic survey were good from the beginning, daily ‘Gandul’ reports.
On another hand ‘Cronica Romana’ stresses that Romania would have had now 3,200 km of expressway if after 1989 the leaderships of the Transport Ministry continued the projects made by IPTANA in 1969. Bucharest-Ploiesti expressway would have been extended, under the name of Prahova motorway, up to Brasov, the construction of Comarnic-Brasov segment being set to begin hardly in 2010. This segment will be given under concession and commissioned only in 2014.
