MPs set up independent groups, led by ex PSD member Oprea

Deputy Eugen Nicolicea announced on Monday, in the plenum of the Chamber of Deputies, that a mixed parliamentary group was set up in the Chamber of Deputies, headed by Gabriel Oprea, stating that this is not an issue submitted to vote, it is only a piece of information, and that “any other matter is an attempt to put a spoke in the wheel.”

Nicolicea, who was dismissed last month from PSD, stressed in the plenum that the mixed parliamentary group consists of 14 Deputies, a number which is growing, and this parliamentary group of the independents was established as a result of their wish to work in a coordinated way, in order that the independent MPs may have the same rights like all the MPs.

Oprea pointed out, in a declaration quoted by Mediafax that on Monday were set up the mixed parliamentary groups from the two Chambers of Parliament, in conformity with the provisions from the Regulations of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate.

The mixed parliamentary group from the Chamber of Deputies consists of 14 independent Deputies: Gabriel Oprea, Eugen Nicolicea, Marin Bobes, Ion Tabugan, Ion Burlacu, Gheorghe Zoicas, Dan Bordeianu, Cristina Elena Dobre, Gheorghe Coroama, Dan Pasat, Dan Mihai Marian, Vasile Soporan, Neculai Rebenciuc and Mircea Irimescu. The leader of the group is Gabriel Oprea. According to the quoted source, the mixed parliamentary group from Senate consists of five independent Senators: Liviu Campanu, Anghel Iordanescu, Ovidius Marcutianu, Tiberiu Prodan and Cezar Magureanu. The leader of the group is Senator Liviu Campanu.

According to Mediafax, some of the members of the groups of independents from Parliament are active also in other groups. For example, two deputies from a group of MPs from Suceana who are now independent after they resigned from PNL and signed for the setting up of the mixed parliamentary group, operate in the PDL group, while a third one could return in the Liberal group. Senator Tiberiu Prodan from Suceava declared that most of the members of the mixed parliamentary group will support Traian Basescu.
