Attempted robbery at mayor’s office in Dambovita

There masked individuals broke into the Visina commune (Dambovita County) mayor’s office, assaulted the security guard but did not steal anything Wednesday night. The suspects entered the building, beat up the 59-year-old guard, tied him up with a rope and told him to give them the money. At some point the robbers touched the fax machine which started ringing, thought it was a security alarm and disappeared without stealing anything. In fact, there was no money at the mayor’s office at that time. The Police are looking for the perpetrators and have already put together a group of suspects. Local Mayor Sergiu Ilie could receive a fine from RON 5,000 to RON 10,000 for not having an alarm and video surveillance system fit to the building, despite previous warnings he received about the security of the institution.
