While the president of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), Virgil Andreies, declared that the file regarding the appointment of Lidia Barbulescu as president of the High Court of Appeals and Justice (ICCJ) was sent last week to the Presidential Administration, the Head of State said that he has not received this file. Andreies said on Thursday that he knows the document was sent last week, but doesn’t know if it reached the Head of State. President Traian Basescu declared on Thursday, on Realitatea FM, that he has not yet received the file from the Superior Council of Magistracy and will make a decision that will be favourable to the Romanians. The section of judges of CSM had decided two weeks ago to propose Judge Lidia Barbulescu for the office of president of the High Court of Appeals and Justice. The position of ICCJ president had remained vacant as a result of the pensioning of Judge Nicolae Popa. Barbulescu is now interim president of ICCJ.
