Metrorex unions announced yesterday that the underground employees could go on general strike on an unlimited period starting on November 16, after the conciliation between parties failed because Metrorex management does not have a mandate from the Government to negotiate the salary rights, Ion Radoi, president of the underground unions, declared yesterday, quoted by Agerpres.

The union leader also announced that starting today 200 unionists will picket in turn the offices of the Government between 11.00 and 13.00 h.

The underground will circulate at minimum capacity also on Thursday, between 4.00 and 6.00, the employees being on warning strike. Radoi stressed that the unions requested a rise of 26.5 per cent, but they will be satisfied also with a rise below 20 per cent.
