Anti-communist resistance pictured in Peasant Museum exhibits

The exhibition “Common denominator: death,” about the opponents to the communist regime executed by Securitate during 1948-1952 was opened on Wednesday at the Romanian Peasant Museum from Bucharest, where it can be visited until November 29. The exhibition is organized further to the exhumation of several opponents to the communist regime, executed by Securitate during 1948-1952. The exhumations were performed by the Institute on the investigation of communist crimes in Romania in the period 2007-2009, further to the requests which came from the relatives and the descendants of the dead. The cases presented in the exhibition include 17 executed persons, most of them shot. It includes objects possessed by the dead, photos (family photos, from the archives of the former Securitate, which were found during the exhumation archaeological actions), video images from the exhumations, and interviews with relatives and descendants.
