EIB and Metrorex signed loan agreement

Acting transport minister Radu Berceanu and public finance minister Gheorghe Pogea, together with the vice president of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Matthias Kollatz-Ahnen, signed yesterday a contract for the funding of segment 1 Drumul Taberei – Universitate of the underground line Drumul Taberei-Pantelimon, worth EUR 395 M, Agerpres informs.

Berceanu has recently said that the representatives of the bank have shown their availability to increase this amount to EUR 500 M, or even EUR 700 M, provided that the Romanian party has the capacity to spend these sums. Metrorex will allot RON 808.69 M, without VAT, estimated cost, for structure works to lot 1 (Raul Doamnei – Parc Drumul Taberei) and lot 2 (Parc Drumul Taberei – Academia Militara), parts of Drumul Taberei – Universitate segment, the works being expected to be finished 12 months after the date of the adjudication of the contract.
