Interim Economy Minister Adriean Videanu announced on Sunday night that the Finance Ministry is set to bring the state budget in Parliament by December 10, while the VAT and single tax will stay in place, Mediafax reports. “As of now, the budget is ready to be submitted to the Parliament. The Finance Ministry is ready to submit the budget even before December 10,” Videanu said. Asked about the single tax and the VAT, Videanu answered these will stay at the same level as this year. However, he admitted that changes might appear during 2010. Referring to the Health Ministry’s budget, Adriean Videanu said that, as a consequence of finding commitment loans as a solution to the money for medical drugs, while salaries and material expenses will be paid from own sources, he hopes the ministry will benefit next year from the same budget as in 2009, about 4.2 pc of the GDP. Next year’s budget keeps the single tax at 16 pc and the value added tax at 19 pc. The Government will pass it after the law that allows a dismissed Executive to approve budgets will be published by the Official Gazette, interim Premier Emil Boc announced.
