11-year-old child jumps off building because of poor grades

An 11 year old boy from Targu Jiu died on Tuesday evening after jumping off a ten-storey building. The child’s mother stated that he committed suicide because of his poor math grades.

According to Mediafax, the lifeless body of Remus N., a fifth-grade pupil, was found by the people living in the block of flats from the top of which he jumped. The people told the police officers that they heard a powerful noise between two parked cars and saw the dead boy lying there.

Ambulance crew unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate him for several minutes.

The boy’s mother told the investigators that his son had poor math grades but that she never reproached him for it. ‘He said that he can no longer stand it because the math teacher insults them because of their poor grades,’ the woman stated.

Prosecutor Emil Mota has stated that the initial investigation points to the fact that the boy came from his four-storey block of flats to the ten-storey block of flats located in a different neighborhood in order to commit suicide because of his results in school.

Mota pointed out that both the boy’s relatives and teachers will also be heard in this case.
