French electro-band in Bucharest premiere concert

Air, a music duo consisting of French electro music pioneers J.B. Dunckel and Nicolas Godin, will perform in Romania for the first time, February 11, 2010. The band, which debuted more than ten years ago with the LP ‘Moon Safari’, is held by ‘The Times’ as ‘one of the best collaboration of this decade.’ ‘The Independent’ regards them as the ‘French version of Kraftwerk’, and ‘Sunday Times Culture’ believes they are the best French duo of the past ten years.

The band has become famous ever since its 1998 debut album – ‘Moon Safari’ which showcased their original music influenced by luminaries Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Pink Floyd or Serge Gainsbourg. The album is a collection of exquisitely beautiful ambiental sounds that take the listener to a happy, upbeat and dreamy universe’ according to the press release by One Event, the concert’s organizer. Praised by both the public and the musical media, the two producers are dubbed the ‘French definition of cool’. Next came the soundtrack to the motion picture ‘The Virgin Suicides’, which marked the cinematic debut of film director Sofia Coppola, and the album ’10,000 Hz. Legend. Their latest record, ‘Love 2’, was launched in early October of this year.
