Women’s handball: Romania beats Croatia in Mobelringen Cup

The Romanian women’s national handball team registered its first win in the last game of the Mobelringen Cup (Norway), a training tournament taking place ahead of the World Cup in December. After previously losing to Russia and Norway, Romania defeated Croatia, score 28-26, and finished the tournament on third place.

The Romanian players had a good start but immediately exposed their shortcomings. The Croatian players took advantage of the Romanian team’s poorer play and took a two-goal advantage at half time, score 13-11. The second half started well for the Romanian team but Croatia once again took the lead, registering a five-goal advantage (23-18). Radu Voina’s players eventually found their thirst for victory and turned the tables, winning the game with a two-goal advantage, score 28-26.
