Bechtel, the constructor of Transilvania express road, “can make next year another 42 km,” although the 2010 budget has not yet been established, the interim minister of transports, Radu Berceanu, declared yesterday. According to Mediafax, the minister could not say how much money the American company received for this year. “Next year (Bechtel – editor’s note) can make another 42 km. In 2010 they will receive as much money as Parliament wants, and for this year I don’t have the exact sums, but they are in Monitorul Oficial and you can see them on Internet,” Berceanu said in a press conference. Of the 42 km, 30 km will belong to Suplacu de Barcau-Mihailesti segment, while 12 km will be from Campia Turzii-Gilau segment. Asked if the 42 km of Campia Turzii-Gilau segment will be commissioned on December 1, the minister said that he preferred it to be a surprise. “You will see. I have surprises. Why don’t you allow me to make you surprises now, in the holiday period,” Berceanu said.
