A total number of 24 media companies jointly formed the Employers’ Organization of Romanian Media (PPR) on Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Romanian Press Club, where they signed the constitutive act of an employers’ organization in the media sector – an essential stage in the professional and institutional development of national press. According to MEDIAFAX, the 24 media companies belong to all branches of media – 10 TV channels, 6 radio stations and networks, 2 press agencies, 54 newspapers, 67 magazines and over 200 internet sites. PPR is a representative organization of Romanian media entities, open to companies active in written press, radio, TV and online, professional associations, companies from related fields of activity and other organizations interested by the goals of this community. PPR aims at promoting the interests of media employers in Romania faced with the current problems of the sector, and the activity of the thousands of journalists who work in this field which is vital for Romanian democracy. Cosmina Noaghea is the president of the new structure, with Razvan Corneteanu as first vice-president.
