Seven new deaths caused by the A/H1N1 virus

136 new cases of infection with the A/H1N1 flu virus and seven deaths caused by the same virus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, with the total number of infections and deaths standing at 4,804 and 25 respectively, a Ministry of Health communiqué informs.


According to the quoted source, seven persons that were infected with the virus and that also had associated health risk factors died (three on December 13 and four on December 14). A 41-year-old man died after being hospitalized within the infectious diseases ward of the ‘Dr. Alexandru Simionescu’ Hospital in Hunedoara. This was the first death caused by the A/H1N1 virus in Hunedoara County.


The cases confirmed in the last 24 hours were registered in the following Counties: Arad (7), Arges (1), Bacau (2), Botosani (5), Braila (1), Calarasi (10), Cluj (5), Constanta (2), Dambovita (4), Dolj (6), Galati (5), Harghita (1), Iasi (9), Mehedinti (2), Mures (3), Neamt (4), Olt (1), Prahova (1), Sibiu (8), Suceava (9), Teleorman (1), Timis (7), Tulcea (7), Vaslui (1), Bucharest (29) and Ilfov (5).
