Otopeni Airport: Gross profit of over RON 100 M

The main airports in Romania have registered considerable profits in 2009, despite the world economic crisis. Thus, Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni) registered a turnover of RON 319 M last year, up by 8 per cent as against 2008, a gross profit of RON 103 M (down by 12 per cent) and 4.5 million passengers (10 per cent less than the year before). According to the preliminary data posted on Monday by the airport, the number of landings and takeoffs has climbed by 2 per cent to 73,260.

Baneasa reports RON 34.86 m profit

The Bucharest-Baneasa International Airport estimates a traffic of 2 million passengers in 2009, the Transport Ministry informs. In the first ten months the Airport has registered an operational profit of RON 34.86 M, with the turnover standing at RON 76.24 M. The taxes levied on the air companies that operate within the airport represent the main source of income from the mainstay activity and 80 per cent of the total revenues. The difference consists of revenues from rental (12 per cent of total revenues) and of other sources of revenue (8 per cent of total revenues). In 2007 the airport registered approximately 900,000 passengers, while in 2008 it registered 1.3-1.4 millions passengers.
