Ziua, Gardianul reportedly closing print issues

Following the line of Cotidianul, Ziua daily suspends as of January 7 their printing issue, Mihai Palsu, the daily’s manager informs in a press release. Thus, Ziua daily will be only issued online “until the financial balance is reached, the release shows. Following the decision, all the employees who are not part of the online team will be given the legal notice. By the end of November 2009, the daily gave up their Monday edition, which was only issued online. Ziua is edited by Ziua press group, one hundred per cent owned by the Petrom Association. Also, Alecu Racoviceanu, head of the editorial team of Gardianul daily announced the daily will be only issued online as of today. The following days a decision will be taken regarding the number of employees the company will issue.

These are two more daily papers giving up up printing, over the past two weeks, after Cotidianul Daily and Business Standard, both of these edited by Sorin Ovidiu Vantu’s media trust Realitatea-Catavencu.
