Democrat-Liberals could be forced to choose between party posts and gov’t jobs

Theodor Stolojan could propose at the next PDL Congress the modification of the statute in order to impose the separation of the political from the governmental activity. According to Democrat-Liberal sources quoted by Realitatea TV, Theodor Stolojan would like the Democrat-Liberals with high positions in the party to stop playing such an important role in the decision-making process, if they hold concurrently positions of ministers in the government.

Stolojan group is threatened to lose the places of vice presidents by Blaga-Berceanu-Videanu triad, and the adoption of such a measure at the Congress would weaken the political influence of the three Democrat-Liberals, who are also ministers in Boc Government. The veterans of the party, Vasile Blaga, Radu Berceanu and Adriean Videanu, intend to clear the management structures and remove the representatives of Stolojan branch from the positions of vice presidents held now. According to sources from the party, Stolojan is allegedly working to an ideological platform for PDL which supposes among others also important modifications of the statute.
