Cristian Jipa, judge with the High Court of Appeals and Justice, has been called this week to DNA for declarations about the relations that he allegedly has with Senator Catalin Voicu, investigated for influence peddling, according to judicial sources quoted by Romania libera. Presently, judge Jipa is not a defendant, his file being in the stage of the precursory acts. Judge Jipa’s wife is now PSD Deputy, party whose member is also Senator Catalin Voicu, and there are several other persons with whom he may not get in contact. Cristian Jipa is the second judge called at DNA in the file of Senator Voicu and of the businessman Casuneanu, after judge Costiniu. PSD Senator Catalin Voicu was also questioned at DNA on Tuesday morning, in the file in which the anti-corruption prosecutors charge him with influence peddling in favour of some businessmen. The prosecutors proceed to criminal investigations in connection with Catalin Voicu for influence peddling, the Senator being accused of having received money for the favourable settlement of several civil and criminal cases pending with the judicial authorities, DNA informed on December 11, stressing that Voicu may not leave the city.
