Homeless people set ablaze public building in Constanta

Flames turned to ash 150 kilograms of plastic items, near 100 kg of textiles and four tires in the town of Constanta. The blaze occurred Tuesday night in an unfinished gymnasium, located at the crossing of Bucurestiului and Oborului roads. Firefighters were alerted by the black smoke coming out of the building. Neighbours say the building was the makeshift shelter of homeless people, who used what they could find to make fire and get warm.

The fire started from a scrap of textile, ignited with a lighter. It took fire squads almost an hour to quell the blaze.
