Bahaian officially charged by prosecutors, lawyer calls for psychiatric expertise

Businessman Sergiu Bahaian, suspected of having ordered the murder of four persons in Constanta County, was charged on Wednesday by DIICOT Constanta prosecutors with instigation to murder in the case of two persons, setting up organized criminal group, and forgery. Bahaian had to be questioned by prosecutors also yesterday, and today he was set to be taken to court with the proposal of preventive arrest.

Alexandru Pantea, Bahaian’s lawyer requested the DIICOT prosecutors to order psychiatric expertise and testing with the lie detector for his client as well as for businessman Valentin Slepac. Pantea declared on Wednesday that the businessman considers himself not guilty, all the story being revenge. Pantea declared that he could not consult the file from DIICOT Constanta regarding the accusations of instigation to murder, but his client told him that he was not guilty of perpetrating the murders. Pantea stressed that the businessman said that the file is a fabrication set up by his collaborator Valentin Slepac.

Bahaian, suspected of having ordered the murder of four persons in Constanta County after they had been involved in several economic offences, is presently in preventive arrest at Slobozia, for the perpetration of other offences, namely forgery and the setting up of organized criminal group.
