Nokia hikes employees wages at Juku

Nokia has started to hire more personnel at its Romanian plant because it switched to the production of integrated circuits apart from the production of mobile phones, with the estimated figure of new employees standing at 200, Mediafax informs.


The employees in Jucu have received a wage hike of 9 per cent for this year, a hike included in the collective work contract signed on Monday, Grigore Pop, the President of Cartel Alfa Cluj, stated yesterday during a press conference that all the employees will benefit from this wage hike, irrespective of whether they are members of the ‘Nokia Metal’ trade union which is affiliated to Cartel Alfa or of the Nokia Free Trade Union.


According to Pop, Apart from the wage hike, the negotiations on the collective work contract also obtained an Easter bonus of RON 50 per employee, an extra 10 minutes of rest time for a part of the employees and a performance bonus every three months, a bonus that could reach RON 200.
