President Basescu attends today the informal meeting in Brussels

President Traian Basescu participates today in Brussels in the informal meeting of the heads of states and governments from the member states of the European Union, the first meeting of this type organized at the initiative of the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy.

“The members of the European Council will have an exchange of ideas regarding the durable re-launching of the economies of the European Union states affected by the economic and financial crisis, and the definition of the general lines of the new Post-Lisbon Strategy (EU 2020 Agenda),” reads a press release issued yesterday by the Presidential Administration. The agenda of the meeting includes also the identification of the new lines of action of the European Union after the UN Conference from Copenhagen (December 7-18, 2009), and the situation from Haiti, the quoted source mentions.
