Boc cautions Antonescu to stop dealing with PDL’s dismanting

PDL president, Premier Emil Boc, warns the Liberal leader Crin Antonescu in an interview to Mediafax, to stop speaking about the dismantling of the Democrat-Liberal Party, reminding him that Adrian Nastase also tried in 2003 to liquidate PD, but instead he became history.

However, Boc accepts alliances between PDL and PNL at local level, like that from Buzau.

The Head of the Government also announced that the salary rises in the public sector depend also in the next years on the available resources. He said that he does not know if his salary, which is higher than most of the Romanians, will give him the possibility to save money in 2010 for later, when he will no longer hold public offices.

Premier talked also about the reform of the pensions: “I want to make things clear in this case too: all the special pensions will be recalculated. There are around 180,000-200,000 special pensions in this country. Further to recalculation, only around 15 per cent of those with special pensions lose a significant share of their pension. For the balance, it is out of question to reduce the value of the pensions, but for 15 per cent there are substantial changes. And I am giving a classical example: someone who had a pension of ROL 80 M and had a contribution for only ROL 20 M, will receive only ROL 20 M, not ROL 80 M as he has now.”

PM added that the retirement age will stay the same until 2015, namely 60 for women and 65 for men.
