Two Romanians arrested for EUR 550,000 fraud in France

Two Romanians have been arrested and put under investigation by the French authorities on suspicion of having created almost 100 different bank accounts using other young Roma true identities, but fake IDs, and causing a total damage of almost EUR 550,000, RTL Info reports, according to Mediafax.

The Romanian couple had allegedly prepared fake payment orders with which they obtained cheques and card payments for various home appliances. After an inquiry that had lasted several months and a spectacular search organised at a Roma campsite, the investigators apprehended the two suspects. The Romanian citizens were prosecuted for fraud committed as an organized group and arrested on Sunday.
