Two weeks – general mayor’s deadline set to fill holes in Bucharest streets

Mayor General Sorin Oprescu set on Tuesday a deadline of maximum two weeks for the road workers to fill up the holes which have appeared lately in the asphalt of the streets from Bucharest. He requested them to repair first of all the most dangerous holes – around 100 on as many main roads in Bucharest – and to use for that purpose the new mixture which was successfully used in the Revolution Hero Square. Oprescu mentioned that this solution of temporarily filling up the holes from the asphalt has been in the possession of the road builders for a long time, but has not been used so far because of the very big costs, namely EUR 3,000 for one cubic meter of this mixture.

The mayor general stressed that the situation of the repaired holes will be updated every morning by the commandment set up at administrative level. It was decided that the holes will be filled up especially at night, in order to not disrupt road traffic.
