Bucharest Authorities want the Romanian community to be represented in the Hungarian Parliament as soon as possible and the ‘ethnobusiness’ situations where minorities are represented by people who don’t even speak that community’s language to be eliminated, Boc stated. He added the solicitations had been communicated to Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom during official talks in the context of Central and Eastern Europe heads of state meeting in Budapest. ‘I have also discussed the topic of institutional assistance and support for the Romanian community living in Hungary during my meeting with the Hungarian Republic’s president. I tackled a proposal of fast and focused steps that need to be taken so national minorities would also be represented in the Hungarian Parliament according to constitutional provisions, which is a decision that has to be implemented’ Boc said. On another hand he said, after meeting his Hungarian counterpart Gordon Bajnai, that a joint government meeting will be held this autumn.
