Poet Mircea Dinescu said on Wednesday he doubts President Traian Basescu had any direct involvement in the National Integrity Agency’s (ANI) decision earlier this month to declare him incompatible with his post as member of the National Council for the Study of Securitate Archives (CNSAS). Dinescu added that the agency was in a bit of a rush when it declared him incompatible, underlining that his agriculture projects do not interfere in any way with his activity as a CNSAS member. Dinescu said however “Basescu’s servants” with the agency wanted to impress the president by offering him “Dinescu’s head on a tray.” On February 3, the agency said Dinescu was incompatible with his post on the CNSAS because he worked as a manager for two agriculture firms. Last week, ANI asked Parliament to dismiss Dinescu from his CNSAS position, given that he did not challenge the agency’s decision to declare him incompatible with the job.
