SalsaFest 2010
features Mandinga



Opening today and concluding on Sunday, this edition of Salsafest will be hosted by Rin Grand Hotel and will feature a select display of musicians. Highlighting the event is Mandinga, the band celebrating seven years. The concert on Sunday will be a preview of March 21st performance at the Palace Hall, “Historia de un amor.” The show features special guest TV star Mihaela Radulescu who will be story-teller in a SalsaFest and will also bring on stage several internationally-renowned artists.


Fatman Scoop
in concert today



Turabo Society Club has a special guest performing tonight, in a unique hip-hop concert. Isaac Freeman III, better known by his stage name Fatman Scoop is a hip hop promoter and radio personality famed for his on-stage rough, loud voice. The artist received his stage name after appearing in the Fugees ‘Killing Me Softly’ video as a cinema worker serving popcorn and ice-cream. He is a recipient of a 2005 Grammy and of a Soul Train Music Award in 2006. Entry is free of charge.


Folk music gala
on Sunday



The greatest name of Romanian folk will grace the Palace Hall stage on March 7 during the “Om Bun Folk Gala 2010.” The event programme features an entire who-is-who list of the genre, from Alexandru Andries to Victor Socaciu, from Mircea Florian to Adrian Ivanitchi. This has been a traditional event for 14 years already, and the last seven editions of the gala were held in Bucharest. The artists invited to participate each year are among the ones with relevant concert and album activity over the past year. Tickets cost RON 100 and can be bought at the Palace Hall box-office.
