Basescu, honorary member of Romanian Scientists Academy

President Traian Basescu has become yesterday an honorary member of the Academy of Romanian Scientists (AOSR). The proposal was made yesterday during the General Assembly of AOSR by General (r) Professor Dr. Vasile Candea, the president of AOSR, Agerpres informs. The proposal had been discussed previously by the institution’s Scientific Council and by the Scientists’ General Assembly and was based on the support that the Head of State had offered to AOSR.


Here are the political and cultural personalities that have become honorary members of AOSR: former President Ion Iliescu, writer Dinu Sararu, Prof. Dr. Irinel Popescu, MP Valeriu Tabara, Academy members Constantin Balaceanu Stolnici and Radu Voinea, Prof. Ecaterina Andronescu (dean of Politehnica University), His Holiness Teodosie. Former President Emil Constantinescu will become an honorary member of AOSR too.
