FM Baconschi meets NATO Secretary General in Brussels

Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi yesterday attended the CAGRE meeting in Brussels, works preceding the spring European summit due to run from Thursday to Friday. Foreign Minister Baconschi yesterday evening also met with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen. Among the issues discussed were the Romanian military presence in Afghanistan and in Western Balkans, the means by which Bucharest is taking part to the debates within NATO regarding the new strategic concept of the organization, as well as matters regarding the alliance’s neighborhood: the Balkans, the Black Sea region and, of the neighboring eastern cpuntries.
