Daniel Anton from the remote village of Glodenii Gandului has become a hero after saving a nine month old girl. The 11 year old was walking to school when two of his friends came out and told him that their little sister is in their burning house. The rescuer left his backpack in the middle of the road and rushed after little Elena. ‘The girl was on the bed and the bed was in flames. I grabbed her and rushed out of the house. The poor girl was just sitting there surrounded by fire,’ Daniel said. The boy gave the girl to a neighbour and rushed back into the house. ‘I immediately thought that the TV is plugged in and it might explode. I went back and tried to get it out but it was too heavy and couldn’t do it,’ Daniel said.
