AmCham Romania has new Board of Directors

AmCham Romania has organised the Annual General Meeting and elections for the new Board of Directors and Auditing Committee, on March 24, a press release reads. The members of the new Board of Directors have appointed Sorin Mindrutescu (Oracle Romania) as AmCham President, while Cristian Colteanu (GE International) and Friedrich Niemann (Athenee Palace Hilton) will be Vice-Presidents and Shahmir Khaliq (Citibank) as Treasurer for the 2010-2011 mandate. Following the elections in March, the AmCham Board of Directors also includes: Shahmir (Citibank), Patrick Desbiens (GlaxoSmithKline), Radu Enache (Hewlett-Packard), Mihai Tudor (IBM), Bill Bowman (KPMG), Manuela Nestor (NNDKP), Ionut Simion (PricewaterhouseCoopers) and Petr Sichrovsy (Xerox Romania).

“I am honoured by this distinction, and along with my fellow Board Members, we will continue to advance the recommendations and advocacy objectives of the previous mandate, as well as priorities for Romania, which in AmCham’s vision should be overcoming the crisis and relaunching the economy, building relevant competitive advantages in the region, ensuring a stable and transparent investment environment, bridging the infrastructure gap, building a modern education system, and a sustainable healthcare system,” said AmCham Romania President Sorin Mindrutescu. The AmCham Annual Meeting was attended President Traian Basescu and US Ambassador Mark Gitenstein.
