National Opera screenings


A special screen in front of the Opera House will show on Saturday a series of musical shorts, as parts of the Musicology ShortsUp event. All of the selected films received international nods. Among them, ‘Signs’ won a shorts-up competition in Cannes, “The Man without a Head” won a Cesar last year and ‘Sniffer’ was awarded best film at European Shorts Awards. Also, between screenings, several artists will perform music included on the movies soundtrack. Tickets can be purchased online or in the Eventim network for RON 25.

Radio Hall concert


Conductor Gerd Schaller will be at the helm of Philharmonic Orchestra on Friday. Programme includes Brahms and Dvorak with two of their best. The first part of the evening will be dedicated to Concerto no.1 in D minor for piano and orchestra op. 15 while the second part will be Dvorak’s Symphony in E minor, The New World.


During intermission, Casa Radio will launch in the Radio Hall foyer a double CD with Eastern sacred music, Paul Constantinescu’s Byzantine Oratorium for Easter, performed by the Radio Choir.

Athenaeum holds Easter concert


Famous music names, from soprano Felicia Filip, Marcel Pavel and Vlad Mirita will share the stage on Saturday in a free concert organized by the Bucharest Mayor’s Office. “The Light of Music” will be also screened in front of the National Art Museum. Performing classical music will be the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, helmed by Daniel Jinga. The show kicks off at 7 pm.
