King Mihai and Queen Ana were received at Zarzuela Palace, by King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain on Monday, during the Romanian royal family’s visit to Madrid, between April 3 and 5.
According to a press release of the Romanian royal household, sent to Mediafax yesterday, Crown Princess Margareta and Prince Radu of Romania were also present to the meeting, along with Prince Felipe and Princess Letitia.
During the three-day visit to Spain, the Romanian royal family attended the Easter Vigil service in the Madrid Plaza de Colon, performed by His Holiness Timotei, Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Spain and Portugal.
King Mihai visited the Higher Centre of National Defence Studies, where he was received by admiral Rafael Sanchez-Barriga Fernandez, director of the centre. The King was accompanied by Prince Radu, colonel in the Romanian Army. Also present during the visit were Maria Ligor, the Romanian Ambassador to Spain, and the Romanian military attaché. King Mihai and Queen Ana, Princess Margareta and Prince Radu were Bishop Timotei’s guests, at the Bishop vicarage, as well as guests of the Romanian Embassy, at a reception given in His Majesty’s honour, the release further states.
