Over 150 doctors last year asked the Medics College of Cluj County to issue official papers that would allow them to apply for medical jobs abroad – almost thrice as many as in 2007. “In 2007, 59 medics asked this certificate from the Cluj College of Medics, followed by 87 doctors in 2008 and 158 more in 2009,” reads a press release. The president of the Cluj College of Medics, Mircea Barsan on Friday told Mediafax that most of those seeking current status certificates are young doctors who were unable to find jobs with hospitals and clinics in Cluj County, hence they decided to leave Romania.
