Rotary Club supports ‘Grigore Alexandrescu’ Children’s Hospital

Rotary Club Bucharest donated surgical instruments and equipment to the first Surgery Ward of ‘Grigore Alexandrescu’ Children’s Hospital of Bucharest. “We chose the first Surgery Ward as beneficiary of our charity project, because it has the most complex activity in the hospital, as it receives surgical emergencies,” acting president of Rotary Club Bucharest, cosmonaut Dumitru-Dorin Prunariu recently said in a press conference. The donation consisted of two types of equipment. First, minimum invasive interventions of diagnosis and surgical cystoscopy benefited from state-of-the-art cystoscopy equipment, plus all the instruments needed to perform urologic endoscopies on patients of all ages, starting with newborns. Second, the ward received nine complex kits of surgical instruments for neonatal, digestive, thoracic and urologic surgery.

The Rotary Club Bucharest project was possible with the support provided by several Rotary Clubs of France, Italy, the UK, Belgium, under the coordination of Rotary Club Paris and with financial support from the Rotary International Foundation.
