PSD wants to get Minister Berceanu sacked

In a regular motion on the Transport sector, due for debate yesterday afternoon in the Senate, the opposition Social-Democrats demand the resignation of Transport Minister Radu Berceanu.

PSD president Victor Ponta told a press conference yesterday that, no matter how Senators will vote on the regular motion initiated by PSD, his party will insist on learning how money allotted to the Transport sector reaches “the pockets of friendly companies.”

“We are the country of millions of potholes and billions of Euros spent on projects that do not exist in reality. (…) Even though the voting machine of PDL, UDMR and independents will work once again, the same irresponsible way it worked when they refused to accept the serious situation of Education and Health, it is important for the opposition to lay the finger on the Transport sector’s wound. (…) We will certainly seek the resignation of Minister Radu Berceanu,” he pointed out.

Ponta added that each of the three terms held by Berceanu as transport minister was “worse than the previous” and “more troubled by corruption cases.” The second largest opposition party, the Liberals announced they would support the transport issues regular motion initiated by PSD in the Senate.
