The Cluj Court of Appeal has admitted on Monday the Prosecutor’s proposal to place gendarme Florin Adrian Groza in preventive arrest for 29 days. The gendarme is charged with manslaughter, leaving the scene of the accident and drinking after being involved in a road accident. The preventive arrest proposal points out that around 10 PM on April 10 Groza ran over a 45-year-old man with his BMW in Cluj-Napoca then fled the scene and consumed alcohol. The coroners pointed out the man died because the car ran over him. Florin Adrian Groza was placed under arrest. Groza is an employee of the Cluj-Napoca Mobile Gendarmerie Unit. Milici Ilie, the spokesperson of the unit, stated for Mediafax that Florin Adrian Groza, an operative NCO, has been relieved of duty.
