President Traian Basescu addressed letters to the Parliament and Government in which he signals the necessity to urgently adopt the Codes of Criminal and Civil procedure and laws to enforce the four judicial codes.
Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Roberta Anastase, stated, for Mediafax, that she received a letter from the head of state in which he urges for the “speedy” adoption of the Codes of Criminal and Civil procedure. “He urges us to show the same care in adopting the procedure codes as in the case of the Fiscal Responsibility bill and the Financial Agreement with Ford and thanks us for these laws”, Anastase said. The president also addressed a letter to the Government, asking that, on the basis of the Criminal and Civil Codes, as well as those of Criminal and Civil procedure, they should issue bills for their enforcement, taking into account the pending country report on Justice of the European Commission.
