The law enforces waited in front of the apartment door, talking to the man’s wife, while he was pretending to be looking for his IDs inside. A short while after, the man came out with a knife in his hand and stabbed the policeman in the thorax region.

The victim was taken to hospital in Ploiesti where he underwent surgery, and the forensic medical examiner qualified the attack as a life-threatening one. The attacker was escorted to hospital for a psychiatric examination. The case prosecutor ordered the attacker to be admitted to a specialized medical facility for a period of 15 days.
