Starting May 3, Orange will provide mobile broadband services at a transfer speed rate up to 14.4 Mbps in 11 cities throughout Romania: Bucharest, Bacau, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Craiova, Galati, Iasi, Oradea, Ploiesti and Timisoara, the mobile telephony operator announced in a press release.
“With the HSDPA 14.4 Mbps standard, a 5 MB file will be downloaded in 3 seconds, under optimum connectivity conditions, unlike the 7.5 seconds required by the present HSDPA 7.2 Mbps technology, while an e-mail with an attachment of 1 MB will be received in less than one second,” reads the Orange release.
The new service is available to existing and new customers, in three versions of data transfer subscription, at monthly fees of EUR 14, 21 and 58 (VAT included). Until now, the same services provided speed rates up to 7.2 Mbps.
