The film “Cealalta Irina”/ “The Other Irina”, directed by Andrei Gruzsniczki, won the Best debut feature film award in the fifth edition of the Los Angeles South-East European Film Festival, the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York announces. The award was received by the actor Andi Vasluianu (photo), who represented the film in Los Angeles. The film “Cealalta Irina”, director Andrei Gruzsniczki’s first feature film, premiered in Romania on December 11 last year. The cast also includes Simona Popescu, dana Dogaru, Doru Ana, Dan Astilean, Gabriel Calinescu, Carmen Lopazan, Vlad Ivanov, Gabriel Spahiu, Mihai Dinvale, Oana Ioachim. The production was also bestowed, among other distinctions, the Grand Trophy and the FIREPRESCI Award in the fifth edition of the CinePecs Moveast Film Festival, The Grand Prize in the Anonimul 2009 Festival, as well as the Romanian Film Days’ Award in TIFF 2009 – the Transylvania International Film Festival.
